Aural Information!

Here are some links to some NPR audio clips about Global Warming…

This one is an NPR “Science Friday” show covering various topics related to GW. Check to see if any of the radio show’s segments are useful for your group.

This one is about the effects on nature when “spring comes too early.” And this one is on measuring carbon footprints. They are both from the NPR show, “On Point.”

And, finally, this is a short one about the rising sea level in Egypt possibly destroying ancient cities!

Here and here are two interesting articles: one is on solar power, the other is on wind power. These would be good for the “prevention” group!

A friend of mine (yes, another “outside” blog reader joins the party) posted an article under my “NYT: …Textbook” post a few down. It’s an interesting read, and he’s got a humorous spin on it. Worth looking at!

Another article of interest–for either “effects on our generation” or “effects on the planet.” Interesting read, though…talks largely about the economic impact of rising health issues associated with GW.

Here’s an interesting article about a high school student changing the way textbooks tackle various political issues, including global warming. What do you think?

Hello, all!

Posted by: landownhs | April 2, 2008 | No Comment |

Welcome to what is sure to be a fun and exciting e-adventure in research and writing. In the (near) future, you will be using these blogs as a way to post ideas, communicate with each other, and generally enhance the research process.

If you aren’t particularly tech-savvy, don’t worry–neither is Mr. Landow; but we will learn together, and Ms. Pomerantz and I will always be available (in person or via the computer) to answer questions if and when they arrive.

Have fun with this new technology! Just think: when Ms. Pomerantz was a high school student, she had to go to a dark and dusty library to do her research. And instead of writing on an internet blog, she had to use quill pens and parchment. But only with a torch or portable lamp next to her (because electricity hadn’t been invented yet).
